Vessel Re-Engineering Program
Pentair's NexSys Vessel Re-Engineering Program allows us to adapt your existing filter vessel to utilize our high performance element technologies. Each system is designed to address the specific operational and mechanical constraints of the facility.
We re-configure the vessel to maximize solids loading ability, while simultaneously reducing the number of elements an operator would have to change. A typical NexSys upgrade uses one quarter the number of elements, while simultaneously increasing the on-line life 4-7 times while providing similar fluid quality.
Some examples where upgrades have been done include:
- String-Wound Cartridge Upgrade: Selexol System
- Cartridge Upgrade: Rich MDEA System
- Sour Water Filter Upgrade
- Ethylene Feed Filter Upgrade
- Stacked Disk Filter Upgrade: Silicones
- Natural Gas Processing: Filter / Separator Upgrade
Conventional filter systems can prove to be laborious during change outs, have high change out frequencies and carry significant disposal volumes and costs. An optimized system achieves maximum utility at minimal investment in manpower, capital and expense. Pentair upgrades allow the use of existing capital in a more productive capacity through increased useful surface area, high efficiency media, effective sealing of elements and minimal operator effort.

Compared to conventional cartridge filters, COMPAX saves you money by lowering operating costs and reducing disposal costs. When comparing filters with the same efficiencies or Beta ratings, nothing outperforms the cost/performance value achieved with COMPAX.
The Apex element is specifically intended to keep annular velocities constant across the entire height of the element. This is accomplished by introducing a gentle taper in the element, so that the annular space on the outside of the element gradually increased from the bottom to top, keeping pace with the external fluid flow as it exited the element.
V-MAX is a coreless filter that flows from the inside-to-outside like a bag filter but V-MAX technology can offer the same online life as a bag filter in a vessel that is roughly half the diameter. This is possible since the V-MAX design offers up to ten times the available filtration media in the same element envelope.
IntelliSep is a dependable, robust and flexible filter aid media cartridge. It absorbs contaminants utilizing various filter aids; from clay for jet fuel, Magnesol for bio-diesel, activated carbon for solvents and many more.
